Homeland Security \ Emergency Management Subcommittee

ACTION: Communicate with state Homeland Security and Emergency Management offices on integrating GIS in current or upcoming projects. Identify other key agencies and identify or assign a liaison for each.
STATUS: Homeland Security and Emergency Management offices have undergone major structural changes this year. Contact has been made with new management on the status of GIS in Missouri homeland security.
ACTION: Actively seek out GIS information on grant opportunities, grant proposals that garnered awards, and spending. Work with the data development subcommittee to supplement grants web page with specific links to Homeland Security.
STATUS: Incomplete
ACTION: Create an updated data inventory list of layers essential for Homeland Security.
STATUS: A specialized inventory list for Missouri homeland security was created from the Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Database (HIFLD).
ACTION: Prioritize essential data layers and coordinate data development efforts with the Data Development Subcommittee.
STATUS: Layers from the spatial data inventory were prioritized, and a list of 80 critical layers was submitted to the Data Development Subcommittee in June of 2005. This list is meant to act as a guide for organizations to focus their efforts.
