The MGISAC Lewis and Clark GIS Award
“Forging new frontiers in GIS for Missouri”
Criteria
Nominations will close at 5pm CST December 1st, 2006.
The award will be presented to the organization, entity, consortium, team or individual that has provided sustained contributions (over a number of years) in leading Missouri to explore new frontiers in GIS. This award is not limited to those that directly participate in GIS projects but includes indirect participants such as GIS champions and policy makers.
This award will be infrequently awarded. Unlike other MOGIS Conference nominations that are reviewed by the awards subcommittee or by conference attendees—Presentations and Posters—this special award will be awarded only after nomination by a member of the MGISAC committee and a majority of the MGISAC votes approval of the nominee for a specific conference.
Nominations should take place at least 3 months prior to award date with voting the following month – leaving over a month for award purchase, etching and delivery.
Nominations will last one month and should be made online or through email and be received by the last day of the deadline – 2 months prior to awarding.
Unlike many awards - nominations for the Lewis and Clark award should not be limited in length other than by the common sense that nominations that are too lengthy will likely not be read.
The actual award should stand out from all other awards presented in form and content.
Previous awardees will not become eligible again until an additional 2 MOGIS conferences have passed.
Submit your nomination now using the Lewis and Clark GIS Award Nomination Form.
If you find the web nominations prohibitive due to length constraints please email a nomination (using the same format) to Gary Mook or Mark Duewell.
The award will be presented at the Missouri GIS Conference in February 2007.
