Poster Session and Project Showcase
The Missouri GIS Conference Poster Session offers three ways for you to share your valuable GIS work with conference attendees! The poster session will be held during the Vendor Reception on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. First, you may choose to present a printed poster, in which case you will be provided a 3.5 feet high x 6 feet long display board on which to tack your materials. Or, you may prefer to present an electronic poster. You must provide your own equipment (laptop, extension cord, small table, projector, etc) if you choose to do an electronic poster. We require that presenters of printed or electronic posters be available during the reception to answer questions about their work. Your final option is new to this year’s conference. You may submit a jpg or PowerPoint slide of an interesting map or other GIS product to the poster chairperson to compile into a Project Showcase. The Project Showcase will be projected as a continuous slideshow during the poster session.
If you are interested in participating in the 2009 Missouri GIS Conference Poster session, submit an abstract of your poster or your showcase digital materials to Elizabeth Cook at Liz Cook by January 15, 2009. Please indicate if it is a traditional poster, electronic poster or project showcase on your submittal. For further information, call Elizabeth at (573) 876-9396.
