Nominations
No April meeting, so nominations are starting late. List will come out this week or next. Will renominate all members in good standing.
State GIO Discussion—Ryan Lanclos
Master Purchasing Agreement moving forward in a slightly modified form. Working against the end of the fiscal year. Planning an ESRI Q&A for the State, others welcome. Contact Ryan. MOMAP moving forward; infrastructure in place. Draft DOQ RFI, hope to have out in June. Lots of Local Gov't interest in Cadastral standard; subcommittee forming. Again, contact Ryan. Discussion. Would like regional workshops going again. RAMONA is a data inventory tool, not a metadata tool. Link from gis.mo.gov. Thanks to everyone who participated in GIS Day at the Capitol. Discussion of what to change or improve.
Subcommittee Reports
Data Development—Ray Fox/Jeff Schloss
Pioneer Trails User Group met yesterday. Ryan Lanclos, Nathan Mattox, Ray Fox all attended. Talked about orthophotography RFI plans. Nathan reviewed survey results. Ten entities participating—about 40 people. Visiting EastWest Gateway on May 24. Hoping to get RFI out this month. Some cities fiscal year begins in October; this will drive price availability timing. Forest Service National Hydrography Dataset toolset training yesterday. Stewardship presentation by Utah recently, inquired about EPA participation. EPA is not participating in any local or regional meetings, same with FEMA. Ryan L: if you get a call from a vendor about the RFI draft, please direct those to me. Discussion.
Funding & Grants—
No Report. Chair appointment pending approval.
Homeland Security/Emergency Management—Tim Haithcoat
No Report
Local Government Group—Steve Marsh/Greg Resz
Steve M: Submitted request for funding from MAGIC to hold mini-conference. Cautiously optimistic that it will be approved.
Outreach & Education—Mark Duewell/David Drum/Jim LaScala
Mark D: Would like to encourage getting GIS Day back on the schedule as soon as possible. New MGISAC Brochure was ready on time for printing, but state printing did not return job in time. Need to hold regional mini-conferences. Need for GIS Event calendar on web site.
Strategic Planning—Pam Kelrick
Work Plan not ready for approval today, but do have all submissions. Review it pending approval in June. Will meet today to discuss work plan and annual report.
Liaison Reports
GIT Architecture (MAEA)—Tim Haithcoat
Ryan L: Standards drafting on the first Tuesday of the month.
GIS Data Policy & Legislation—Tony Spicci
No action on #1850, probably dead. FLAIR act probably dead too, at least for now. HB426 may spin up again. Pam K: Rural interest is usually around 911, but new homes forgoing land lines. Tony: E911 addresses wireless technology. Pam K: does not address funding.
MSDIS Activites—Mark Duewell
Staying busy with web site, MAGIC Symposium. NAIP data causing bandwidth issues. GTC training in demand, particularly Remote workshop. Digital Government Summit and Missouri Mappers events coming up.
Missouri GIS Conference—Tony Spicci
MAGIC numbers initially low but came in slighly lower that 2004 late; need to decide what to do about MOGIS. David D: Bylaws 3.6 and 3.7. Pam K: move content into mini-conferences. Mark D: two-day conference: workshops on day one, sessions on day two. Ray F: ditto Pam's comments. Steve M: move beyond paper presentations. Create educational environment: handouts, something that people can go home and do. David D: difficulty of finding workshops. USENIX Annual Technical Conference holding workshops through duration of conference. Greg R: like MMA's more social model. Maybe throw more support to mini-conference. Tony S: we have not done much in the past socially. Has to be executed successfully. Mark D: being able to shift costs around. Pam K: how committed are we to Tan-Tar-A? Melissa L: social activities do matter. Discussion. Steve M: go into the evening with sessions. Shortening it would be a mistake. Mark D: have to show value-add to raise price 50%. Tony S: conference chair presentations at June meeting. Jamie Schieber has left the MU Conference Office. Do we remain with MU, Jamie, or find a third party? Bid coming from Jamie's company.
MAGIC Symposium
Tony S: MAGIC Symposium went well. Arkansas Camp idea. GIS Incident support team getting traction. Formalizing relationships.

Steve M: if someone would like to assist collecting presentations for MOGIS, let him know. David D: monthly plea for more people to jump in and use the wiki to update the web site. Pam K: thanks for the free registration to the MAGIC Symposium. Arnold W: anyone interested in being a proofer for the next state road map? Debbie B: had first request for response team from Caruthersville. Inventoried all houses damaged by tornado. Jeff S: posted new dataset, reviewing quite a few for update. MEGA 2006 CD coming out, but all data is free from MSDIS. Kim B: new free half-day seminar about ArcGIS Server in June in St. Charles.
