Jeff F: Kim Swisher resigned. No replacement before October. Tim H: Don Martin also resigned. Have a new name for nomination.

State GIO Report—Ryan Lanclos

Subcommittee Reports

Data Development—Ray Fox/Jeff Schloss

RFI sent out, formulating RFP next week. All information from vendors will be handled confidentially.

Funding & Grants—Pam Kelrick/Ryan Lanclos

Tim H: CAP grant will be released August 18. Also, Fifty States Initiative economic development grant out right now, focusing on regionalization. Pam Kelrick will probably send out more information. Ray F: combine CAP proposals.

Homeland Security/Emergency Management—Tim Haithcoat

Discussion about training for command and control situations. Possibility of GIS Corps from Missouri. No word on funding outcomes. Steve M: MARC held first joint meeting between GIS and HS committees.

Local Government Group—Steve Marsh/Greg Resz

MAGIC will support the regional workshop: $2,000 to MSDIS. Meeting in Tri-lakes area will be postponed; looking for a location.

Outreach & Education—Mark Duewell/David Drum/Jim LaScala

Mark D: Geospatial Web Services Roundtable being held August 30. Approaching the cap of fifty attendees. If you want to attend and haven't registered, hurry. Vendor presentations, OGC Mapserver presentation, CAD web services. Co-sponsors do need to register. Getting workshops together for MOGIS07. Also getting a CAD/GIS user group together. David D: updated wiki software, bookmarked URLs need to be changed, MOGIS07 poster form. Ray F: updated site calendar.

GIT Architecture (MAEA)—Tim Haithcoat

Still working on cadastre standard. Working with assessors, state tax commission, etc. Always looking for more participants and/or people who merely want to follow progress.

Policy & Legislation—Tony Spicci

MSDIS Activites—Mark Duewell

Missouri CAP will close out at the end of August. Last training n Trenton next week. Training in Columbia last month. Looking into new hardware, still hurdles to overcome. Q4 and FY reports available on the web site. Working with USGS on last-minute funding that came up; still uncertain. New HW, backup solution, GPS and training equipment.

Missouri GIS Conference

Jim L: vendor packet going out this week. Looking for additional sponsorship from vendors, all in packet. Discussion about how to recognize Dell for providing workshop hardware. Motion from Jim L to offer Dell the "platinum" sponsorship as defined in the vendor packet. Approved by vote. Mark D: workshops to fill; please suggest a workshop and someone to give it. Steve M: beginning to collect presenters. Working on tracks. No walk-through today; will be November 1. Liz C: met with Arnold W about the poster session.

MAGIC Symposium Committee

Mark D: retreat coming up.

Cooperating Agency/Organization Reports

Federal/NRCS—Liz Cook

NAIP06 beginning to arrive. If you need counties right away, bring a USB drive to Liz's office. MRSID only; raw data $2,500 per county mentioned as a ballpark figure. USDA has year-end money to spend; want to spend on LIDAR. Looking for partners, but has to happen quickly. Discussion. Have upgraded GPS equipment recently.

Federal/USGS—Ray Fox

Darrel Williams taking over Oklahoma. NHD stewardship training session soon. USGS grants: one to CARES for geographic names. MSDIS grants, upgraded equipment.

Wetlands/Aquatics Natural Resources meeting August 22 at 8 a.m. at Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia.

MMA—Jennifer Peterson

Successful conference just ended. Half of keynote was about using GIS in mapping. Discussion. Assessors conference October 1-4 at Lodge of the Four Seasons. Don Hagan: education is the missing link.

MSPS—Don Martin

Jeff Falter reelected as Chair; Bobbie Sue Koelling elected as Vice-chair; David Drum reelected as Secretary.

Alternative Meeting Options

Teleconferencing being looked into by Tony Spicci and Ryan Lanclos. Tim H buying a teleconferencing phone. Would require meeting location to have a phone line. Will discuss further at next meeting.

Round Table Discussion—all

Renee R: DNR posting new layers to MSDIS: groundwater depth and elevation, sinkholes, geology layers.
Jim L: welcome Mark Campbell from City of La Grange
Steve M: maybe conference profits should go to grants to counties to adopt GIS.
Kevin K: would like to see economic development grant.
Mark C: very interested in MGISAC.
Sarah M: thanks to MGISAC; really interested.
Tim H: would like to see more people look at the cadastral standard.
Jeff F: vendors are welcome at all meetings as vendor, personal interest, or representing a group.
