MSDIS Activites—Mark Duewell
- 1st Qtr report and financial statement is either already posted or will be shortly.
- SE Structures Project data sharing meeting in Jackson was well attended. There were 19 attendees from a number of counties and municipalities and both participating RPCs. This resulted in an FTP site for data transfers being set up for the exchange of data sets - at their request.
- Data distribution policy simplified and posted –
- Commercial requestors – you pay costs for media, postage and staff time.
- Non-commercial or not-for-profits (state agencies, feds, Lgovs etc…) – you pay postage (if necessary) and for media if you don’t provide it.
- A “Failover” test of the Kansas MSDIS server backup solution will occur over this upcoming weekend – a system board replacement on the Missouri MSDIS server provides an excellent opportunity to test this system. Very little if any outage is expected for users.
- Wenbo continues to define forested regions for NGA.
- MSDIS currently plans to submit another CAP grant – proposal will be determined based on the RFP due out this month.
- The MAGIC Metadata Triage grant was closed out this September – At the NSGIC Annual meeting the grant administrator, Sharon Shin, indicated she was very pleased with the projects outcomes – a multi-state cooperative program that trained over 100 metadata creators and users.
- Wash U. LiDAR workshop registration managed by Martin. 57 registered – current registration list distributed to each presenter.
