MGISAC Administration

State GIO Report—Tim Haithcoat

Have a new CIO, Bill Bryan, and Director of Operations, Steve Siegler. Have made requested modifications to the data sharing memorandum of agreement. Pam K: what is the date for the academic GIS roundtable? Tim H: do not have one yet.

Project Updates

Northeast Regional Meeting

Discussion Topic/Presentation

Motion from Mark Duewell to cancel February meeting; seconded by Pam K; approved by vote.

Development of 2009 work plan, subcommittee plans.

Discussion. Suggestion from Eric F to extend work plan to end of FY10 (June 30, 2010).

Subcommittee Reports

Data Development—Ray Fox/Jeff Schloss

Block 2A is in review. Block 2B will be available next week. Received a call from the Forest Service, who is interested in NAIP and CIR imagery. Tony S: NAIP could get more funding through the proposed stimulus package. Ray/Liz: LiDAR projects are underway along the Mississippi river. Next meeting 1-3 next Tuesday.

Finance—Liz Cook

No expenditures in the last two months. Balance $12,956.71.

Funding & Grants—Pam Kelrick, Tony Spicci, Mark Duewell

Application in for an RSOC grant in the southeast.

Homeland Security/Emergency Management—Debbie Briedwell

Meeting next Tuesday at the Truman building room 350B, 10-12. Mostly working on the Homeland Security track for the conference. Mark D: also need to discuss the eastern homeland security meeting. Debbie B: have an hour to present GIS at statewide SEMA conference.

Local Government Group—Mark Allen

Spent all morning in representative's office explaining GIS. Presenting at the next RSOC. There is a large federal grant for phase 2 wireless.

Outreach & Education—Mark Duewell

Just held GIS Day at the Capitol. Have talked a little about the homeland security meeting. Rural GIS Summit is May 21-22. Web site at . Letter will go out to all low population counties through a variety of channels. Iowa event will be September 22-23 in southwest Iowa. Mark D: interested in providing a one-page flyer to distribute at any event.

Strategic Planning—Eric Foster

Missouri GIS Conference—Tony Spicci

Review of current registrations. Reminder email will go out tomorrow warning people that early registration ends next week. Get the word out.' 179 of 284 room nights met. Have to get to 284 by next Friday. Shannon W: can an email go out to registrants reminding them to have their reservations made?

Moving a presentation by Aaron Addison to lunch.
